Scholarship Recipients Give Back To FWSF

Three FWSF scholarship recipients are giving back to FWSF by joining the 2016 Board.

Shelby DuncanShelby Duncan, FWSF Technology Committee Chair, earned FWSF’s scholarship in 2012 while double-majoring in Economics and International Relations at Mills College.  Since graduation Shelby has been working for Bank of the West’s Corporate Security Program. She first was a Project Management Analyst specializing in Information Security and Fraud Prevention projects and currently is a Senior IT Auditor, supporting the review of the Bank’s Comprehensive Capital Analysis Review (CCAR) Program.

Shelby sees herself as a part of the FWSF community of dynamic women who seek to support one another through moments of triumph and downfall. As a board member, Shelby wants to facilitate synergy amongst FWSF members by leveraging technology as a unifying factor. She hopes to complete FWSF’s deployment of Salesforce software, automate reporting to FWSF members, and improve data quality in order to increase membership and scholarship and endowment donations.

Stephanie HydeStephanie Hyde, FWSF Endowment Committee Chair, won a scholarship in 2014 while obtaining her bachelor’s degree in business and accounting at California State University East Bay. She dived into FWSF quickly, joining the Endowment Committee after receiving her scholarship. Now that she has graduated, in January Stephanie started working at RINA Accountancy Corp. in San Francisco. Stephanie has already passed two of the four examinations required to obtain her CPA license and expects to be considering her graduate degree options.

As a board member, Stephanie is excited about learning more about fundraising while working to ensure the sustainability of the FWSF scholarship program—a program she knows up close and personal!

Alexis BabbAlexis Babb, FWSF Membership Committee Chair, received her scholarship in 2012 when she was attending Santa Clara University. She is now nearing three years as a financial analyst for Wells Fargo in its Regional Commercial/Technology Banking Office in San Jose. In her spare time, Alexis enjoys reading, cooking, pilates, hiking and travel. As chair of FWSF’s Membership Committee this year, Alexis intends to deepen the ties between FWSF and the participating universities as well as increase student involvement in FWSF. She also looks forward to networking with existing members, so say hello when you see her at your next FWSF program.
