SOLD OUT! Hands-on Cooking Experience at First Class Cooking School

Lifestyle Series

Cooking ClassPlease join us for a hands-on cooking class with Chef Emily Dellas at her stunning SoMa loft near AT&T Park. Participants will prepare a four-course meal designed around seasonal fruits and vegetables. Instruction features recipes made from scratch and uses top-quality, local, and seasonal ingredients.

Classes are designed to appeal to the most novice of cooks, while also demystifying cooking chemistry and offering culinary advice to more experienced chefs. At the end of the evening, participants will share dinner together and go home with recipes from the meal. All are encouraged to bring their own wine or other beverage.

Emily Dellas is committed to educating and encouraging everyone to do more cooking, based on her belief that cooking more leads to better health. She operates First Class Cooking, a private cooking school in San Francisco, and Culinary UX, a design and consulting practice that advises on kitchen design for optimal performance. She also consults on emerging food technologies.

Emily’s instruction lands where creativity and chemistry overlap. She has a deep understanding of kitchen science, teaches the tenets and techniques of culinary science and creates in consideration of ingredients from both a flavor and performance perspective. Emily’s recipes are produce-forward and use nutrition-dense ingredients in delicious preparations.

Emily holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and studied Architecture at Columbia University and Urban Planning at the University of Melbourne. A graduate of the Chewonki Foundation's Maine Coast Semester, she continues to indulge her passion for growing and producing healthy food in volunteering weekly with The Edible Schoolyard.
