Blockchain

Technology is being developed at a light-speed pace and is revolutionizing business models and workflows, particularly in the global financial markets. Examples of this transformation include:

  • Crypto-currencies and tokens are challenging traditional corporate finance. Internet Coin Offerings (ICOs) have provided over $2 billion in funding to young companies, representing close to six times the amount provided by traditional early stage investors.
  • Robo-advisors are competing with traditional financial advisors, offering portfolio management that leverages big data and artificial intelligence to produce returns more economically.
  • Traditional financial organizations are partnering with technology companies to provide blockchain solutions which expedite processes and facilitate corporate cross-border payments that bypass traditional systems.

Our speaker, Cristina Dolan — founder and CEO of InsideChains and COO and co-founder iXledger — will provide her insight into the digital transformation of the financial markets through blockchain ecosystems. As a former executive of a global FinTech software company, she understands the value of a market ecosystem and the growing regulatory requirements for transparency and best execution. Cristina is a recognized authority and Internet pioneer and will share with us her journey as a female engineer trailblazing through the early days of the Internet.
