Pat Yarrington, CFO of Chevron, to be honored as “2013 Financial Woman of the Year” by the Financial Women’s Association of San Francisco

Award luncheon has provided over $1,850,000 in scholarship grants to more than 200 Bay Area women.

SAN FRANCISCO, May 16, 2013 – The Financial Women’s Association (FWA) of San Francisco has selected Patricia E. (Pat) Yarrington, as the 2013 Financial Woman of the Year. This award recognizes Yarrington for her decades of corporate financial leadership at Chevron and role as the chairman of the San Francisco Federal Reserve board of directors. Yarrington joined Chevron as a financial analyst over 30 years ago and gradually gained responsibilities culminating with her designation as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2009.

“We are honored to have Pat represent our organization as Financial Woman of the Year,” said Anne Chambers, president of FWA of San Francisco. “For over three decades she has lived out our theme of ‘lead, mentor, inspire’ by demonstrating focus and commitment to her evolving financial career, supporting her colleagues and future women leaders, and contributing to the larger financial community through her involvement with the San Francisco Federal Reserve. She is an outstanding role model for the FWA.”

The Financial Woman of the Year Award, presented by the FWA Scholarship Fund, recognizes and applauds the role women play in the field of finance in the Bay Area. Yarrington’s selection as the 2013 award recipient will be formally announced at the Annual Scholarship Luncheon honoring the 10 recipients of the FWA’s 2013 scholarship awards on June 6, 2013 at the City Club in San Francisco.

“This award is especially meaningful to me as a recipient of scholarships during both my undergraduate and graduate studies,” stated Yarrington. “I applaud how FWA provides funding and mentorship for women as finance students as well as ongoing support over the course of their careers.”

Yarrington’s commitment to women's leadership is evidenced by her ongoing involvement with the Forté Foundation, a non-profit consortium of major corporations and top business schools working together to launch women into fulfilling, significant careers through access to business education, opportunities, and a community of successful women.

Presentation of Yarrington’s award will take place at The Financial Woman of the Year Luncheon to be held on September 27, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency, San Francisco.
