What do you like most about being a member of the FWSF community?
Actually, I've just joined, so I'm excited about meeting Bay Area women working in the financial services field.

When you were 10 years old, what were your career aspirations?
At 10 I wanted to be an astronaut. I'd also learned that some adults were *paid money* to play sports. As a kid who loved softball and soccer, I wanted to explore that path some more ;-)

What is your favorite part of your job?
The bulk of my practice is doing personal financial planning. I love being able to work with my clients to help them chart a course through big financial decisions like buying their first home in the suburbs, saving and paying for college and planning for the retirement of their dreams.

What is your greatest achievement to date?
Raising my two children — Caitlin (almost 16) and Declan (12). Still works-in-progress really, but for all of the headaches, they bring me immense joy.

What talent would you most like to have and why?
Some day, when I have more time and money than I know what to do with, I'd like to learn to fly small planes.

Best part of the past year?
I launched my own financial planning and wealth management practice. There was no more room for me to grow in the firm for whom I'd been working for four years, and it was time to go out on my own.

What is your top career tip?
Stay true to your convictions. If you find a better way to do something, ignore the naysayers and go for it!
