Greetings! I've been living in the Bay Area now for over 20 years, learning about economics, accounting, and finance, and spending most of my time working as a business analyst. I first came to Silicon Valley after leaving my beautiful hometown of San Diego to get an Economics undergrad degree at Stanford, and I later toured a PhD program at the GSB and picked up a masters from the Economics department. Most recently, I took accounting and finance classes through Cal's extension program, and earned a CPA. After 10 years in litigation/economic consulting, I'm now in Act 2, starting a small video game company with my husband (of almost 17 years!), Steve. Roughly, I'm the business side and Steve is the design and programming side.
I first heard about FWSF through my friend Sara Filipek, who is also a member. I joined because it sounded like a great opportunity to learn from and share with other energetic, like-minded women, and I hope to benefit from the great pool of collective wisdom from ladies who are doing exciting things. I'm a big subscriber to the healthy body/healthy mind school and I love researching (and sometimes even trying) different kinds of exercise. I'm also a huge consumer of books, TV shows, movies, and games with special interests in fantasy, crime, dark heroism, and some sci-fi.
