On March 26, members of FWSF spent an afternoon volunteering at Dress for Success San Francisco. The mission of the organization is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
The FWSF group helped one woman write a resume, helped outfit a number of women with suits, dresses and accessories for upcoming interviews, and helped organize inventory. Anne Chambers, President of FWSF commented, “I didn’t know I had it in me to be a fashion stylist. It was so much fun picking outfits, finding accessories, and seeing how great, and transformed, the Dress for Success clients looked in them!”
Dress for Success was established in 1997 and has served more than 700,000 women around the world. The San Francisco location is looking for cash donations or slightly used clothing and accessories appropriate for interviews.
