Please share a little about yourself and your business and social passions.
I'm a CPA with two decades of experience in both public accounting and industry roles. After spending 19 years in Wisconsin, I made the move to the Bay Area in July 2022. In 2023, I established AddsVal, my professional services firm offering Fractional CFO Solutions to startups and small to mid-sized businesses. Committed to empowering businesses to thrive, I provide tailored financial expertise to help companies reach their full potential.
Outside of work, I'm passionate about music and enjoy singing as a vocalist in my free time. It's a creative outlet that brings me joy and balance. Additionally, I cherish moments with my family and love hiking together, exploring the beautiful trails and nature spots in the Bay Area.
What inspired you to join FWSF?
As I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey, networking became a key focus, leading one of my vendors to recommend the Financial Women of San Francisco (FWSF) to me. I'm always eager to connect with other women, learn from their experiences, offer my support, and contribute in meaningful ways. Building these connections not only enriches my professional journey but also allows me to empower and uplift fellow women in business.
What’s your favorite part of FWSF?
My favorite part of FWSF is the networking events. Through these gatherings, I've had the opportunity to meet some incredible women and men who've enriched my professional and personal life. It's been a fantastic platform to connect, share insights, and build lasting relationships within the finance community.
What’s your best career tip or advice for women entering the finance or financial services industries?
My top career advice for women entering finance is to prioritize building a strong network, seek mentorship from experienced professionals, and continuously invest in learning and development. Networking opens doors, mentorship offers guidance, and ongoing learning keeps you competitive in a dynamic industry. Embrace your unique perspective and contributions, and don't hesitate to speak up, share ideas, and take on new challenges with confidence.
Do you have any news or anything else you’d like to share with the FWSF community?
As a newcomer to the Bay Area, I'm eager to expand my network and get involved in the community. I'm interested in volunteering opportunities and would love to join a group where I can contribute and make a difference.
