On July 26th, Financial Women of San Francisco hosted a sold-out industry leadership event (and private tour) at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Held in the Janet Yellen Conference room, the event featured speaker Kendra Hartnett, senior risk specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank, who gave insights into bitcoin, blockchain, and cryptocurrency.

On June 6th, Kathleen Nielsen, FWSF’s president, and Minako Steel the co-chair of FWSF’s East Bay committee, spoke about FWSF’s history and mission at Capital One Café in Walnut Creek to Diablo Valley College (DVC) students interested in financial career paths. This event was the first of its kind with many more to come!

A Special Day Honoring 12 Special Women

On Friday, June 8, over 200 guests came together at the City Club to honor the 2018 Financial Women San Francisco’s (FWSF) 2018 scholarship recipients. Since the scholarship program began over 30 years ago, FWSF has awarded over $2.5 million to over 300 deserving women.

We need to tap into our eight-year-old #badass selves to give people the verbiage to help them sell us to others when we are not in the room. Supervisors and sponsors can recommend you for promotions and new opportunities as they arise if you are on their mind and they have the language to articulate why you are the solution for the future needs of the organization.
