FWSF’s Commitment to Diversity Programs

FWSF has traditionally focused on gender diversity in the financial services, but at its March meeting, the Board adopted a broader initiative that expands the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I). A newly-formed D&I committee convened in June. Its first project is to assess who our members are currently, and to that end, it is developing a brief membership questionnaire. The D&I committee, a subcommittee of Membership, is looking for additional members who want to get in on the ground floor.

Calling all Foodies and “Drinkies”

On Tuesday, April 4, FWSF held its first quarterly networking happy hour of 2017. In recent years, we went regularly to the Meridien. This year, we will be taking advantage of being in one of the most foodie and "drinkie" (I just coined that term) cities in the U.S. We will go to different bars in the city. So that people have an easy time getting there, we will try to find locations in the Financial District and around Market Street. This quarter we went to Palomino in SOMA. FWSF hosted the first four bottles of wine and some appetizers. (Sorry to those of you who left the early and didn't get these). The second quarterly networking happy hour was held June 13th at John Colins, 138 Minna Street. A fun evening was had by all.
