Join us for a bi-partisan discussion with award winning SF Chronicle journalist and political correspondent Phil Matier along with bay area political analyst veteran for over three decades, professor of political and legal communication studies at SFSU and former Mayoral candidate Joe Tuman, as they discuss the critical issues and potential consequences of this heated election on both a national and local level.

Phil MatierPhil Matier
Whether it’s politics, personalities or analysis Phil Matier is one of best informed insiders in the Bay Area. In addition to his work with KPIX 5, Matier and fellow journalist Andy Ross co-write a news column for the San Francisco Chronicle. Their column, Matier & Ross, runs Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday, offering scoops and insights about one of the most fascinating and trend setting regions in the country. Matier can also be heard on KCBS Radio during morning and afternoon drive time.

 

 

 

Joe TrumanJoe Tuman
Joe Tuman’s life has been about public service. Throughout a career spanning 30 years, through teaching government and law at a public university and community outreach, Joe has a BA from UC Berkeley and a JD from Boalt. He teaches politics, law and communication at SF State and has worked in TV, news and print media for over 3 decades. Tuman participates in Ironman competitions, triathalons and marathons and is married with two children.

Liz Farrell is a former producer/writer for morning show on KTVU Channel 2 and a monthly columnist for Marina Times. Liz also serves on the board of the Stern Grove Festival and is mother to 3 children.
