Financial Women of San Francisco Announces 2020 President

Olivia Barbee is the organization's first African American president

SAN FRANCISCO, February 6, 2020 - (Patch)Olivia BarbeeFinancial Women of San Francisco (FWSF), an organization that has helped women advance their careers in financial services for over 60 years, announced board member, Olivia Barbee as their 2020 president. As a member of FWSF for over nine years, Barbee will build on the organization's success with focus on member engagement and recruitment.

"I faced many challenges on my own growing up, but when I joined FWSF, I gained a strong support system of women who faced similar challenges. As president, I plan to reach women like me and highlight all the valuable resources and life-changing opportunities this great organization has to offer."

Barbee also vows to honor FWSF's commitment to inclusion by creating programs that will serve women in newly emerging finance-related fields such as fintech and cryptocurrency and encouraging them to join the organization. "There's something valuable at FWSF for every woman who works in the financial services industry," said Barbee.

"The board acknowledges Olivia's devotion to FWSF," said Kathy Wheadon, FWSF's 2019 president. "Olivia has played a major role in raising funds for our scholarship program by building and maintaining relationships with our corporate sponsors. Her passion and commitment to our organization is extraordinary, and she's an excellent role model for the FWSF community and is the perfect person to lead this organization in 2020."

Barbee is a Chartered Financial Analyst who began her career as a fund analyst at Morningstar in Chicago, Illinois. She received her B.A. at Stanford University where she studied journalism, English and American history. Currently, Barbee works for Wells Fargo Investment Institute as marketing program manager.
