Increased Media Coverage for FWSF

In Q2 2015 FWSF officially made the decision to hire Patricia Harden, a long-time member herself of FWSF, and her team including Nina Newhouse (featured in our member highlight section) at Harden Communications Partners LLC to assist with public relations for the organization.  Over the past few months it has become increasingly clear that the professionals are on board and that FWSF has had a lift in coverage and recognition!

Their key objectives are as follows:

  • Raise the visibility of FWSF as a leading organization that “advances the success
    of women in finance”
  • Showcase the leaders of FWSF to recognize and inspire members and aspiring
    women in finance
  • Educate the public and influencers about the high-value programs and activities
of FWSF, including the scholarship program

It is clear from the attached articles — and even a recent stint on KTVU — that things are progressing well. Examples of their efforts include: coverage of the selection of Carrie Dolan as the Financial Woman of the Year in the San Francisco Business Times; the Orinda Patch and American Entrepreneurship; coverage of our scholarship recipients in the USF Student Newspaper and Newsletter, in The Stanford Daily, in the Dominican Star, and in The Foghorn (University of San Francisco).

Media attending the Financial Woman of the Year event on 30 September at the St. Francis were Mark Calvey, Finance Reporter, San Francisco Business Times and Katherine Rowlands, Deputy Business Editor, BANG, Oakland.

Our ladies are amazing and to see them covered in these most deserved ways is certainly something to be proud of for our organization.
