FWSF launched a financial literacy program at USF in mid-September, a three-part series designed to help college students build essential personal finance skills.
The program was spearheaded by Kim Scala, in partnership with 2026 Scholarship Winner Arianna Costello, a USF graduating senior. Gayatri Natrajan and Lisa Zuffi assisted in designing the curriculum.
The series kicked off with a session on the “Basics of Finance,” presented by Sue Schaeffer, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of three dozen students. The inaugural event also welcomed support from university leadership, underscoring the importance of equipping students with the financial knowledge they need for life after graduation. FWSF hopes to take this pilot program to other Bay Area schools.
Stay tuned for details on the next two sessions!
