Stephanie Terrasas2025 FWSF Scholarship Recipient, MBA Student at Santa Clara University, and Manager, Marketing & Membership at Silicon Valley
Please share a little about yourself:
I am passionate about growth—whether it’s in education, business, or on a personal level. After spending 15 years teaching middle school mathematics, I have brought my passion for learning into my MBA journey and my part-time work at the Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative. At Santa Clara University, I serve as Co-President of the Graduate Women in Business Club and Student Ambassador for the Leavey School of Business.
Outside of school and work, I'm a mom who runs for fun. Training for and completing eight marathons has taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of pushing past limits—qualities I bring to every challenge I take on.
What inspired you to join FWSF?
I was inspired to join FWSF after volunteering at a number of events and getting to know some of the members of the organization. FWSF is such an amazing group of women from various backgrounds and experiences. The collective strength we have in various aspects of finance is inspiring!
What’s your favorite part of FWSF?
After being awarded the 2025 FWSF Graduate Student Scholarship, I am a newer member. Being surrounded by the women of FWSF is motivating, uplifting, and energizing. I have already met a number of amazing women and look forward to connecting, networking, and helping out as a volunteer at upcoming events.
What’s your best career tip for women working in finance or financial services? Given that I am pivoting from education and am not in the financial sector (yet!), I do not have specific advice to offer. However, I am definitely open to hearing advice from the FWSF members who have already blazed trails in the sector.
