Student at Golden Gate University

Please share a little about yourself:
I am an International Student, currently pursuing my Master of Science in Finance at Golden Gate University with over three years of experience in financial planning, banking, and insurance. I currently work with the Finance Department at GGU as a Student Assistant, where I manage daily operations like invoice processing, payment batches, and student refund reconciliation using Oracle EBS and GAAP-compliant practices.

My academic work has sharpened my skills in corporate finance, risk management, and financial modeling. A highlight was building a full FP&A model for a hypothetical pharmaceutical firm, which deepened my proficiency in Excel and Tableau for forecasting and visualization. As Treasurer of the Finance Club at Golden Gate University, I enjoy leading initiatives that connect students with industry professionals and promote financial literacy.

Beyond finance, I am passionate about mentorship, community-building, and lifelong learning. I am excited to be part of a network like FWSF that uplifts and empowers women in finance.

What inspired you to join FWSF?
I joined FWSF because I truly value being part of a community that supports and uplifts women in finance. As I grow in my career, I want to learn from women who have walked the path before me, build meaningful connections, and give back where I can. FWSF’s focus on mentorship, learning, and leadership really inspired me, and I am excited to be part of a network that helps women succeed and grow together.

What’s your favorite part of FWSF?
I am new to FWSF, and I am really looking forward to meeting and learning from other women in finance. I love the idea of being part of a supportive community where people share advice, experiences, and opportunities. I am especially excited about the chance to build real connections and grow both personally and professionally.

What’s your best career tip for women working in finance or financial services?
Be patient with yourself and stay curious, every place has its own way of doing things, so take time to learn and adapt. Your unique background is a strength, so don’t hesitate to ask questions and share your ideas. Over time, your confidence will grow and you will find your voice.
