FWSF ended 2024 with our Annual Meeting and Holiday Party on December 11 at Aprio in San Francisco. It was a great opportunity for members and guests to conclude the year by mixing and mingling in a warm atmosphere with tasty refreshments. The event was hosted by our 2024 FWSF President, Sue Mazzetti, who provided an annual review. “Our theme this year was “Connection.” Today, more than ever, people need ways to connect. FWSF is a community of like-minded, successful women (and men) in finance, and our objective is to strengthen our connection to our community–our members, sponsors, scholarship recipients, and the Bay Area at large.”
FWSF board and committees, as Sue explained, collaborated to achieve 2024 goals that strengthened FWSF’s connection to our community. Many successes were achieved. Through listening to members, additional networking events were offered enabling us to connect in a more personal way, events were better aligned with how members want to consume their programming with a balance of virtual and in-person events that provide thought leadership, and we partnered with corporate sponsors to identify topics of interest and high caliber speakers. DEIB expert speakers trained our board, and DEIB events with cutting-edge topics were provided. Fundraising exceeded the goal for the year through corporate sponsors, individual donors, and new sources of revenue, like the FWSF night out at the SF Giants Game and adding a silent auction. Scholarships were awarded to 10 recipients, and FWSF began a refresh and refinement of its branding, which can already be seen on our website and social media.
Sue introduced our incoming 2025 President, Mona Ahmadi, the 2025 Board, and the Scholarship Board. Lastly, she announced the FWSF 2024 Distinguished Member of the Year, Denise Field.
