A recent KPMG and Financial Women of San Francisco (FWSF) sponsored panel of business leaders delivered a clear message about how to boost inclusion and diversity in business: open, honest communication. Conversations, even if difficult, must happen more often to make significant progress in inclusion and diversity across Corporate America, said the panel.

On September 19, in a presentation that was part of the Financial Women of San Francisco (FWSF) Leadership Series, Dr. Jing Zhang, managing director and the global head of Moody’s Analytics Research and Modeling Group, brought a different perspective to the quantitative analysis field, one that was focused on financial inclusion. Although quants have been blamed for some misdoings of the past, and are known for structuring products like Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDOs), which played a critical part in the last financial crisis, Dr. Zhang emphasized the field’s many positive contributions.

If you learn, teach.” This statement is a reflection on the true spirit of the FWSF organization, which is exemplified in June each year when the organization awards scholarships to women pursuing a career in finance or a related field. Read about this wonderful event that took place on June 6, 2017, at the City Club of San Francisco.

The second quarterly networking happy hour was held June 13th at John Colins, 138 Minna Street. A fun evening was had by all.
